San Jose is not an affordable city to live.
Housing is not affordable to most. Rents are constantly increasing. With unchecked illegal immigrant flow into the city, rents will just continue to creep upward because of the demand.
Ask yourself if the city council or the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors really care about the cost of housing. Higher values on houses means more property tax for the county and the city to spend. So, do they really want housing prices to go down? Is there a conflict of interest by our elected officials in pushing for lower housing prices versus the revenue the city and county get from property taxes?
The only thing that got housing prices to go down at all is the economy. And while housing prices did go down in some areas, rents went up in almost all the areas.
Ask yourself, did the city council or the mayor have any brainstorming sessions on how to lower housing production costs to bring down the cost of new housing? Did they streamline the process? Did they decrease the time to market? Did they review the demands to the developer/builder?
What has the city council done for you lately in addressing jobs, housing prices, rents, roads, illegal immigrants, graffiti, and crime? All I see is the city raising garbage fees by 9%, banning plastic bags, and writing pathetic “Condemn Arizona” memos.
The city of San Jose is laying off cops, yet the city officials condone illegal behavior by protecting illegal aliens. Something is out of whack here! The city is laying off the good guys and supporting the bad guys. The city council and the mayor have their policies wrong. The city should keep the cops and report the illegal aliens to the federal authorities.
But then again, the Democrat voters in San Jose have to make the call. Vote for law & order and fairness or vote for the illegal aliens who come into this country without security checks, without health checks, without jobs, without papers, without proof they can stay off welfare and without respect for our laws and language. You choose…
